Henry Segrave set a new Land Speed Record at 203.792 MPH in 1927 driving this car. It was the first LSR car with a full enveloping aerodynamic body. It was also the first non-US contender to run on the famous Daytona Beach.
Introduced in 1974 this was my first model. Somewhat rough by today's standards, it was produced in 300 numbered pieces, of which about 3/4 reproduced the car as it looked the day it set the record, while 1/4 had the lettering that appears on the car today (see photo below).
The model was delivered without the wooden base that appears on the photos.
The real car is currently part of the National Motor Museum collection at Beaulieu, UK.
